Foster

Could you become a foster carer?

SOME people might decide they are called to foster

A foster carers’ main role is giving children a home until a more permanent family can be found. You can do it if you’re single, married, old, young, employed, retired, etc. There are different types of foster care that could suit you; respite, emergency, short-term, long-term. Be a part of us meeting the great need for foster carers and be a part of the campaign to recruit 100 new foster homes from the church locally.

Without 100 Homes we wouldn’t be adopting 3 siblings! 100 Homes led us through the fostering journey and have supported us over the last 4 years whilst also encouraging others in our church to support us or even consider fostering for themselves.

Foster Carer

Becoming a foster carer

If you are interested in becoming a foster carer we would love to hear from you!

We currently work in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council and Derby City Council. We know they offer great training and support for foster carers and we work closely with them through the application process. If you live in a different local authority area, such as Nottingham City or Derbyshire , we can help you get started fostering for them too.

Applications are initially made through Foster for East Midlands Councils, who will then pass you application to your local authority for your assessment.

100 Homes will provide you with a buddy throughout the assessment process and beyond. If you contact us before making your application then we can introduce you to the relevant local authority and the Foster for East Midlands Councils recruitment team.

Please let us know if you apply directly, and please always mention 100 Homes on you application if you have decided to foster because of our work.
